Asian competition law policy and practice roundtable

Competition Law

This session will build upon our successful roundtable program that was held in Kuala Lumpur. We will have six discussion leaders who will each lead a 30 minute discussion on a particular topic (over our three hour session, including Part 2 of the roundtable). We will give each discussion leader approximately 5-10 minutes to introduce their topic and then open the floor for a roundtable discussion by all attendees at the session. We used this format in Kuala Lumpur which resulted in participation in the discussions from many attendees. Our preliminary list of topics for discussion is as follows: (a) cooperation between competition law enforcement agencies; (b) the application of competition law to IP rights assertions; (c) national benefit considerations in merger reviews; (d) practicalities of engaging with recently established competition agencies; (e) common and varying sensitive sectors in different jurisdictions and (f) current hot topics raised by roundtable attendees.
